NUR 100/ PNR 12: Welcome

How to find Nursing Journals

Welcome

In NUR 100 you are specifically required to look in Nursing Journals while searching for articles that use evidence-based research.

What is a Journal?

A Journal is a publication that is published regularly (like the Wall Street Journal) and focuses on a specific subject and a professional community.

At BCC we have on and off campus access to over 300 Nursing Journals. Each one has a slightly different community it addresses and each one may look a little different while you search for articles.

How do I find the Nursing Journals at BCC?

Start at the BCC Library Home page: http://www.bcc.cuny.edu/library/

Select Journal. click the "search"

Browse e-journals by category. Select: Health & Biological Sciences

Scroll down and select Nursing (258)

Each on of the Blue links should connect you with a Nursing Journal.

The Name on the journals will give you an idea about what kind of nursing research they cover. If one link does not work try another! Be sure to check out the date ranges listed by the links, if a journal only lets you access content between 2005 and 2006 that means that information is over 10 years old and may not be suitable for an assignment.
