A powerful web comic, first posted by Asians4Peace, (artist unknown). Former NYPD Officer Peter Lang shot and killed Akai Gurley, an unarmed Black man, in a dark stairwell in the Louis H Pink Houses in East New York, Brooklyn. Liang was charged with manslaughter with a reduced sentence of 800 hours community service. Interviews with the mothers of Akai Gurley and Peter Liang provided the foundation for this web comic.

SAADA continues to provide a platform for South Asian American voices, history and culture. This repository offers thousands of South Asian American historical material and collects scholarship from those within the community. SAADA's mission is emphasize the importance of South Asian American history and its inclusion in American history canon.
