Anthropology: Writing & Citing

The library provides you with access to RefWorks, a citation management software program designed to assist you with managing citations, creating bibliographies and citing sources in your papers. Once you create your account, you will be able to access your citations both on and off campus. In most cases, you will be able to download articles with citations directly from library databases and citations from the library catalog, CUNY+ or Onesearch.

As of September 2015, AAA style (for all publications) follows the Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, particularly in regard to reference citations, which are summarized below in the American Anthropological Association URL.

This handout provides an exhaustive list of style guide information for documenting sources in different disciplines. The handout is organized by discipline and includes both a link to the main organizational website and also a link for an online guide to using that style.
