The Great American Read: Home

This LibGuide is the BCC Library's guide to The Great American Read, a program created by PBS to explore the power of reading in the American experience.

The Great American Read

"The Great American Read" is an eight-part series hosted by PBS which covers America's relationship with reading and writers--especially of fiction--and how intertwined stories are to the way Americans construct their world.  The Librarians here at BCC want to use The Great American Read as a way to get people more engaged in reading.  We know that you are asked to read and write a lot for your classes, but we want to remind you that reading is a joy too!  It's a wonderful way to expand your mind and cultivate a rich interior life.  So we are going to provide different ways to find out more about the 100 books on "The Great American Read" and where to get them on campus so you can join in "The Great American Read"!
