Welcome! This Libguide is here to present information and guidance as part of BCC's ongoing project to unroll the JSTOR Forum digital repository application for use by faculty interested in utilizing a creative and flexible system to upload and manage assets as part of fulfilling research and student learning initiatives. We hope that our efforts can result in a greater level of sophistication and accessibility to help staff better accomplish their particular missions; JSTOR Forum is applicable to virtually any subject and can be a highly useful tool. This libguide will provide useful information and links to help JSTOR Forum users understand and implement its functions.
Visit the JSTOR Forum Commons at http://www.sscommons.org/openlibrary/#1
JSTOR Forum is a platform (formerly known as Artstor Shared Shelf) that allows users to upload collections of digital material to an online database, allowing for the assignation and allocation of detailed metadata frameworks to ensure organization and findability for your particular subject areas.
JSTOR Forum collections are discoverable alongside the ARTstor Digital Library’s content at Bronx Community College, and may be shared with other institutions or published to the Open Web via JSTOR Forum Commons, the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), or Omeka (a free, flexible, open source web-publishing platform for the display of library, museum, archives, and scholarly collections and exhibitions).

Once this is created, email both Cynthia Tobar at Cynthia.Tobar@bcc.cuny.edu and Jacob Adler at Jacob.Adler@bcc.cuny.edu so we can grant you access to JSTOR Forum.
JSTOR Forum is divided into two administrative functions: the Cataloging screen and Administrative screen.
-The Administrative screen (http://catalog.sharedshelf.artstor.org/admin.html) is used to define your collection or “Project” and what sort of information fields (Title, Description, Date, etc.) you want to assign to each file/asset.
-The Cataloging screen (http://catalog.sharedshelf.artstor.org/login.html) is used to upload the files themselves and input data into the fields you’ve created.
