World Languages and Cultures: Journal & Magazine Articles

This online guide is developed specifically for those doing research in Modern Languages. It provides a recommended list of resources, which encompasses print materials, electronic databases, and selected Internet resources.

While we're big fans of Google, your professors generally want you to use scholarly sources in your work. Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar allow you to search for peer-reviewed articles/citations on the open Internet. If you update your profile to reflect your BCC affiliation (you will have to confirm using your @bcc.cuny.edu email address), Google Scholar will show you any articles or resources matching your search that you have access to through BCC's subscription databases. You may also use the databases below to find primary sources, articles, ebooks, media, and more related to your search. If you're not sure what databases are or how they can help you, watch the brief video linked below for a better idea!
